After a year of prayer and seeking God’s face for our church, we are pleased to announce that Troy Hochstetler has accepted the call to the position of Senior Pastor at Lafayette First Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Troy, his wife Shari and their baby girl Kyla will begin their service with us on Sunday, August 24, 2008.
Pastor Troy came to a saving knowledge of Christ at the age of 16, after which he experienced a call to full-time ministry. He and Shari met at Olivet Nazarene University and were married shortly after graduating. Troy then attended Nazarene Theological Seminary where he earned his Master of Divinity degree.
Pastor Troy shares his call to ministry this way, “I have developed a passion for the local Church to be a catalyst for redemption within the community. I truly believe that local churches are God’s hope for the world. As a pastor, I have enjoyed sharing the gospel with those who are far from God and helping Christians to realize their potential in Christ as disciples and change-agents in our world.”
Pastor Troy comes to us from Indianapolis First Church of the Nazarene, where he served as the Next Generation Pastor. We are excited for pastor Troy’s arrival and how God is leading and blessing our church. Please join us in praise to God!
