Our Leaders

Lafayette First Church of the Nazarene is privileged to be led by a capable team of spiritual leaders who make decisions, lead in service, and, above all else, seek God’s direction for the church.

Church Board

Church board members are elected leaders who serve as an executive team that leads our church through the importance processes of creating, casting and implementing a vision for the church. This important task includes oversight of finances, staffing, facilities, denominational responsibilities, and oversight of our church’s Ministry Teams. Current Church Board Members are Norma Atkinson, Dennis Buckmaster, Lance Dubea, Lisa Epsteen, Tim Hill, Jim Martin, Heather Patterson, Dave Powell, Phil Richey and Matt Wise.

Troy Hochstetler
Lead Pastor

Troy is our Lead Pastor. He is passionate about communicating the love of Jesus to today’s culture and helping Lafayette First Church of the Nazarene bless our neighborhood. Troy graduated from Olivet Nazarene University and Nazarene Theological Seminary. He is married to Shari, the love of his life, and they have two beautiful daughters, Kyla and Ashlyn.

Matt is our Student Ministries Pastor. He loves helping young people realize their place in God’s story of redemption and partnering with them to become disciples of Jesus Christ. Matt graduated from Olivet Nazarene University and will graduate from Nazarene Theological Seminary in the Spring of 2011. He considers himself the luckiest man on the face of the earth to have married a girl way out of his league, Nicole.

Heather Patterson
Children’s Ministry Pastor

Heather is our Children’s Ministry Pastor. She adores kids and together with the Children’s Ministry Team is focused on showing them the joy that comes in loving Jesus. She attended Purdue University majoring in Youth, Adult and Family Studies. She enjoys anything that allows her to be creative including writing, painting and dreaming. Heather was born and raised in Lafayette where she lives with her best source of creativity, her husband Brett, and their two boys, Isaak and Luke.
